Copyright and DMCA

We will respond to legitimate requests to remove content from Cogniac’s Services under applicable laws and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). Cogniac also retains the right to remove user content that we deem to be infringing the copyrights of others.

Please be advised that you may be liable for damages if you misrepresent that content or activity is infringing. Fair use should also be taken into consideration. You may want to consult an attorney before taking any action pursuant to copyright infringement or the DMCA.

To report content that you would like removed from Cogniac’s Services, please submit a properly formatted DMCA request (17 U.S.C. § 512) to our Copyright Officer:

Please send our Copyright Officer the following information:

  • Copyright owner name (or company name, if applicable)
  • Your name, title or job position, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
  • A description of the copyrighted work(s) allegedly infringed
  • URL’s or other information describing the location of the copyrighted work(s) allegedly infringed. You must include the full and precise link of the page, post, or media file where the content appears.
  • Please include the following statements in your correspondence:
  • I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf
  • I have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, it’s agent, or the law
  • Under penalty of perjury, the above information in this notice is accurate
  • You must include an electronic or physical signature in your correspondence

Cogniac’s copyright policy includes restricting and/or closing the accounts of users we identify as repeat infringers. We apply this policy at our discretion.
